From 1981 to 1983 she worked on a project of multidirectional holographic interferometry, funded by ESA (European Space Agency).
From 1985 to 2000 she was technical research manager with the Department of Physics (DIFI) of the University of Genova.
From November 2000 she was assistant professor at the Department of Computer and Information Sciences DISI of the University of Genova
From May 2004 she is associate professor at the Department of Computer and Information Sciences DISI of the University of Genova
She is co-author of several articles and co-author of one book.
Her main research interest is in numerical methods for the solution of inverse ill-posed problem and their applications, such as optical tomography for the investigation of crystal growth in microgravity, confocal microscopy, particle sizing, seismic tomography and astrophysics.
More recently her main research interest is in image restoration problems
related to the LBT (Large Binocular Telescope) project and in medical imaging,
in particular SPECT (single photon emission computed tomography) and
microwave tomography.
