Short Biography
Marco Mesiti received the master and Ph.D degrees in computer science in 1998 and 2003, respectively, from
the University of Genova, Italy. He has been a visiting researcher at the applied research center of Telcordia Technologies, Morristown, NJ.
Since 2005 he is assistant professor at the department of informatics and communication (DICO) at
the University of Milano, Italy.
His current research interests include management of semi-structured data, querying and classification of XML documents,
schema evolution and access control mechanisms for XML.
He has co-organized the dataX workshop at EDBT 2004 and EDBT 2006 and served as PC member of IEEE SAINT 2005,
IEEE SAINT 2006, ADBIS 2006, EDBT Ph.D. Workshop 2006, EDBT Workshop ClustWeb 2004, and as reviewer for
international conferences and journals.
